The Beach Rooster began with our dad, whose lifelong time in the sun led to ongoing basal-cell carcinoma surgeries.
Watching someone you love go through repeated skin cancer treatments changes the way you think about protection.
It became clear that prevention matters, and it is never too early to build better habits.
For the next generation of our family, and for anyone who spends time outdoors, we wanted to create a sunscreen people would actually wear consistently.

Love the light coverage. I previously wore a light powder mineral foundation & would apply facial sunscreen afterwards. I love this one step tinted mineral sunscreen.

Honestly, I’m not a sunscreen person. I’ve never understood how baking chemicals onto your skin is helpful. But, this sunscreen is different. It has good clean ingredients and does not feel heavy or sticky at all. I also love the fact that it’s slightly tinted so I don’t look like a ghost when I’m out in the sun. It’s the only sunscreen I will use from now on!
First off, most products in this category either compromise protection, load you up with unnecessary chemicals, or feel like you’re wearing a layer of grease in Arizona heat. This doesn’t.

I bought tinted mineral sunblock today at the Surfer Girl Festival in Oceanside and I’m seriously impressed. I’ve been paying $75 for a similar sunblock that wasn’t even water-resistant, but this one was only $25. Right away I noticed it’s not greasy at all, and the tint blends in so naturally you can’t even tell I have it on. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be going back to the expensive brand after this.
